Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is tasked to find active members, in good standing, willing to fulfill executive committee and director positions on the board of directors and to present these nominees for consideration for the annual election of directors and officers.

Teller Committee

The Teller Committee counts the ballots in any election and reports the results to the board of directors.

Conference Site Committee

The Conference Site Committee is responsible for seeking bidders for the next available annual conference of the association.  In accordance with our by-laws it is chaired by the Vice President.

Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee shall receive all written complaints of ethics violations and shall review, investigate, and recommend action to the Board according to the provisions set forth in the Code of Ethics.

Finance Committee

The committee shall be chaired by the Executive Director and comprised of the Treasurer and current President. The committee shall monitor and report all financial transactions of the Association to the Board of Directors. 

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee oversees the Awards in Craft program, including the rules, policies and sponsorship of these awards.  In accordance with our by-laws the Vice President is the chair of this committee and facilitates the AIC program at the AGLOW Fall Conference.

Fundraising Committee

The committee shall facilitate and organize donations and prizes to be auctioned or raffled at the annual meeting. The committee shall plan the event, providing all necessary personnel to organize and conduct such raffle and auction.  The committee shall also be aware of, and search out, other means of raising funds to support and advance the purposes of the Association.

Membership Screening Committee

The Membership Screening Committee scrutinizes all applications for membership in the association, causes them to be advertised in the Horizons newsletter and presents them to the board of directors for approval.

Constitution and By-Laws Committee

The Constitution and By-Laws Committee recommends changes to the constitution and by-laws as needed to the board of directors.

Craft Improvement Committee

The Craft Improvement Committee secures articles for the Horizons newsletter and programing during the annual conference aimed at providing guidance and education for improving our craft as outdoor communicators.

Supporting Member Recruitment Committee

The Corporate Member Recruitment Committee is tasked with seeking out new corporate members, and acting as liaison between the existing corporate members and the board of directors.

Media Member Recruitment Committee

The Media Member Recruitment Committee is tasked with seeking out new media members and acting as liaison between the media members and the board of directors.

Marketing Committee

The committee shall be chaired by a supporting member in good standing and comprised of any members in good standing. The committee shall be in charge of branding and messaging initiatives for the Association. 

Communications Committee

The Communications Committees purpose is to streamline our communication channels, maintain a simple plan for communicating effectively and consistently with members, especially through the use of Horizons, website, and social channels and ensure these initiatives are executed in the best interest of the organization.

Giving Committee

The committee shall carry out the policy of the Board of Directors in selecting recipients of scholarships and PLAY grants. It shall work to develop and secure funds for the scholarship program.

Past Presidents Committee

The committee shall be chaired by the immediate Past President, and comprised of all past presidents of the Association still in good standing.

The committee shall discuss and present nominees for the Association’s Golden Glow awards. The committee shall serve as trustees of the history of the Association, documenting and saving the history of the organization for future reference and posterity.
